Birthdays are all but a shabby affair,
But to say this only a few dare.
The advent of this festive day many await,
And to see every day is special, they're too late.
They adorn houses like rainbow rings.
They garnish themselves like queens and kings.
They fill their tummy in star hotels,
And each present they want like nothing else.
The money you fritter in a day,
Can sustain many lives at the verge of decay.
And instead of the perfect surprise you wait,
Surprise a beggar with some food in a plate.
To greet your dear with a joyous surprise,
A whisper in the ear would easily suffice.
